I reside in the countryside near Melbourne, Ontario, Canada. We are on the Caradoc sand plain, which is a fine sandy soil, excellent for growing tobacco. Other crops in this area are corn, wheat, alfalfa, soybeans and asparagus. This area was originally heavily wooded, called the Longwoods, roughly at the northern extent of the Carolinean forest region of North America. Our forest trees are deciduous, with many varieties - oaks, maples, beeches, birches, ash, hickory. There are still quite a few patches of bush in the neighbourhood, and it is a pleasure to walk in the woods and see the trees and the wildflowers, especially in spring. Ontario's provincial flower, the trillium, is abundant in this area's woods.
Book Review
Our young man Harry knew war was scary;
An active mind had made him wary.
Four feathers came and brought him shame;
He set out to redeem his name.

Maidens rise and horses leap!
Nay, the twain shall never sleep
in quiet enjoyment. The employment
of capacities by Heaven meant
to flesh and body human mind,
in those we may some purpose find.
Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust:
Live and Love; the Rest is Rust.
Rising Groundwater
Silent, swelling, secret fluid
Biding below night, flowing, filling sight.

Where Do I Work?
I have a small computer software and support firm
Ken Roberts Computer Consultants Inc.
Disclaimer: I am not the same guy as the Ken Roberts who wears a cowboy hat and mails out brochures promoting a commodity trading system. I know nothing about him and cannot tell you how to make money playing the market. If you want my advice, buy a good mattress and you can use it either to hide your money or to get a good night's sleep.
Or, if you really want to learn how to invest, you might consider a bit of reading ... try the writings of Benjamin Graham, Philip Fisher, John Neff, Jesse Livermore, George Soros, and Warren Buffett - that should give a pretty diverse set of advice from successful investors with something to suit most tempraments from steady accretion of value, to dynamic trading. Canadian Moneysaver is a pretty good magazine. "The Money Game" by "Adam Smith" is a classic re investor psychology.
