The Western Canon Mailing List currently has 33 subscribers.
That's the good news. The bad new is that thus far no one
has made any posting concerning the work that we are all
suppose to be reading this month, and April is nearly half
over! I find this very disconcerting. The major purpose of
this mailing list is to discuss the works we are reading.
Without such discussion I see no point in maintaining the
list. Why would anyone want to be subscribed to a mailing
list that offers no mail?

I respectively request that someone please post a message
concerning Veblen's "The Theory of The Leisure Class". No
posting is either too long or too short. Someone needs to
get the ball rolling! If the current situation does not
improve then I may be forced to introduce new guidelines
that encourages posting, such as requiring posting to remain
on the list. I really do not want to make such changes, but
circumstances may force me to do so in the near future.

It was my hope to create a virtual Great Books discussion
group with this mailing list. I am not giving up on that idea
as yet, but I need your help if this is going to be a list
worthy of maintaining.
